Our History
Aurora Sound Studios was founded in 2010 by Ethan Bellweather, a passionate audio engineer with a vision to create a world-class recording facility in the heart of Seattle's Fremont neighborhood. Ethan, a graduate of the University of Washington's School of Music, recognized the need for a studio that combined cutting-edge technology with a comfortable and creative atmosphere.
Initially, Aurora Sound Studios operated out of a small, converted warehouse space. Ethan invested his savings into acquiring a vintage Neve console and a collection of high-end microphones. Word quickly spread among local musicians and producers about the studio's exceptional sound quality and Ethan's dedication to his craft.
Over the years, Aurora Sound Studios has grown from a one-person operation to a thriving business with a team of experienced engineers and producers. In 2018, the studio moved to a larger, purpose-built facility featuring multiple recording rooms, a mixing suite, and a dedicated mastering studio. We have continually updated our equipment, ensuring we stay at the forefront of audio technology.
Today, Aurora Sound Studios is recognized as one of Seattle's premier recording studios, serving a diverse clientele ranging from independent artists to major record labels and commercial clients. We remain committed to Ethan's original vision of providing exceptional audio services in a creative and collaborative environment.

Ethan is the founder and lead engineer of Aurora Sound Studios. With over 15 years of experience in the audio industry, he has worked with a wide range of artists and businesses. Ethan's expertise includes recording, mixing, mastering, and sound design. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Washington and is a certified Pro Tools expert.
